Most default digital watercolor brushes look flat
We love watercolor. We've painted plenty on real paper, and we use that look in a lot of client work.
When you move from paper to screen, it's easy to lose the authentic feel of real brushes and paint. A lot of beginner digital pieces look flat.
Default watercolor brushes rarely get you that polished, believable wash. Real watercolor behaves differently on paper, and anything that ignores that reads wrong.
So we built the set ourselves
We made a pack of 144 custom watercolor brushes from scratch. It took about 250 hours of trial and error while sampling genuine watercolor strokes.
Why that long? Because we couldn't find brushes that met the standard we use in commercial illustration. After 15 years of professional work, we needed tools that help us work faster and look better.
We first planned around 20 brushes. Digging in, we covered more watercolor scenarios, added custom paper textures for realism, and included a mini-course on how to use the brushes.
We're happy with the result and excited to see what you paint with it.
