First Steps in Digital Art with Procreate: For Young Artists

Your child's first stepsinto digital art.

  • 5art quests
  • 59+kid brushes
  • 6+ages
  • 10ma day

In a few short lessons, your child goes from simple sketches to colourful finished pieces, learning real Procreate skills while building confidence with every project.

Adult teaching methods, rebuilt for kids

We've taught digital art for 20+ years and worked with brands like Sephora, Piaget and Tiffany & Co. Teaching children needed a different approach.

When parents asked for kids' courses, we realised adult lesson structure wouldn't hold a child's attention. Through conversations with families and a lot of testing, we learned kids need shorter sessions, clearer wins and more play.

We spent months building a course just for young artists: real techniques, simplified into fun projects that still teach useful tools.

The perfect partner to paintbrushes and crayons

Kids can explore, test ideas and make 'mistakes' fearlessly on the iPad, then bring their digital creations to life with real brushes, crayons or paint, the best of both worlds.

Your child will gain creative confidence with every project, learning to mix colors, explore textures and bring their imagination to life while having fun.

By the end, your child will have a collection of colorful artworks, each one showing new skills, growing confidence and their unique artistic voice. Turn them into t-shirts, stickers or room decor.

No. We start from the very beginning and never assume you've drawn before. If you can hold an Apple Pencil and have Procreate on your iPad, you can follow along.

Any iPad from 2018 onward runs Procreate well. You don't need the newest model, a solid Apple Pencil, compatible iPad is enough.

Yes, Procreate works best with a pressure-sensitive Apple Pencil (1st Gen, 2nd Gen, or Pro). The basic USB-C Pencil is less ideal for line weight and opacity.

The videos total about 1 hour. Most Twotap students spend a bit longer drawing along, and that's the point. Lifetime access means you can go at your own pace. A lot of people fit this into about 30 minutes a day.

You can watch on any device with a browser, but you'll want your iPad open to draw along. Many students watch a step, pause, then paint, or use a second screen for the video.

You're not alone. Join the private Twotap community on Facebook to ask questions and share progress, students and our team are active there. You can also email support@twotap.art anytime.

No. This is a one-time purchase with lifetime access. Buy once, revisit forever, including updates we add to the course.

It's designed for young artists roughly ages 6 and up. Lessons are short and playful, and kids can follow along on their own or with a parent.
