Art Nouveau looks like it takes a steadier hand than you have. It doesn't. It takes a set of rules you decide once and then keep: how wide the letters are, how heavy, where the thicks and thins fall, what the serif looks like.
So the class starts there. Jimbo builds the system before he builds a single finished letter, and every letter after that inherits it. That is why the piece holds together at the end.

Pick a small palette, then add a retro noise pass so the flat colour has some grain in it.

Hi, I'm Jimbo Bernaus — a letterer, illustrator and educator with over a decade in the creative industry. I run Shoutbam, a creative studio based in Croatia and Spain.
